Sustainable integrated urban water and wastewater management is our goal.
Cities around the world are facing a range of dynamic global and regional pressures, including rapid urbanisation and urban sprawl due to population growth, industrialisation, and climate variability and change. People are constructing in areas such as river floodplains, areas proned to flooding, areas with scarce water resources, and areas with no access to public wastewater disposal and treatment systems.
They are facing difficulty in efficiently managing ever scarcer water resources, delivering water and sanitation services, and disposing of wastewater, while minimizing negative impacts on the receiving environment and on the urban populations’ quality of life including environmental, health, social and economic aspects.
The ecological ‘footprints’ of cities are ever growing through over-exploitation of available resources (land, water, energy, food, building materials, energy, finance) for their populations whilst producing massive streams of waste (solid, gaseous, liquid) in return, contaminating soil, air and water.
CBA Consultants Ltd has expertises, experience and adequate tools to analyse these problems in an integrated manner with a long term sustainable vision. Based on the result of the integrated study, CBA Consultants Ltd prepares the integrated management plan of the given city catchment for the long term sustainable management of the water resources, the stormwater and the wastewater.
CBA Consultants Ltd use modern sophisticated computer tools for the integrated study and management and design of Water, Stormwater and Sanitary Sewer Reticulations systems.
CBA Consultants Ltd uses many different computer software for hydrological and hydraulic modelling of rivers and urban catchments. Some of these software are the Danish Institute of Hydraulic tools such as Mouse, Mike Urban, MikeNet, Mike11, MikeSWMM; the US Army Corps software HEC series as such HEC-1, HEC-HMS, HEC-2, HEC-RAS, RiverCAD from Boss International and ILSAX of Sydney institute of Technology, Australia.
Some of the specific works that CBA Consultants Ltd undertakes for its client in the fields of urban drainage and water supply are:
Integrated Catchment Study and Management: CBA Consultants Ltd provides this service to many of our government and local government department clients. Some of the tasks that we undertake as part of Integrated Catchment Study and Management are data collection of the systems mostly using GIS, surveying and remote sensing, Hydrologic and hydraulic computer modeling, Environmental impact assessment, Resource Consent application and necessary consultation such as consultation with the public, Community representatives, indigenous people, Documents preparation, Civil design, Construction contracts administration. Depending on the requirements of our clients and the nature of the catchment, the project could involve analyzing together the three waters namely stormwater, wastewater and water supply. Each of these three waters can also be analyzed independently.
For the hydrological and hydraulic analysis for catchment studies, CBA Consultants Ltd uses modern up to date computer softwares such as Mike Urban, Mouse, Mikenet, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, RiverCAD and others.
